Our dance and performance series at Velocity Complex seamlessly blends the athleticism of acrobatics with the artistry of dance. A fusion of contemporary, jazz and hip hop disciplines, designed to build strong technique, creativity, and confidence in every student. With options for beginners to advanced athletes, there’s a place for every performer to learn, grow, and shine.

Contemporary & Jazz

TNT: Dance – Junior (Ages 7-14, Level 3-6)
Sundays 10:00-11:00am
Blends dance technique with acrobatic skill application. Athletes develop contemporary and jazz movement, floorwork, transitions, leaps, turns, trick integration, and dynamic choreography. Required for the Junior Acro Dance competition team.

TNT: Dance – Elite (Ages 10-17, Level 6-PP3)
Sundays 12:00-1:00pm
Advanced contemporary and jazz training blended with acrobatic skills, refining movement quality, versatility, and performance. Required for the Elite Acro Dance competition team.

FLEX: Dance

FLEX: Dance (Ages 7-17, Junior/Elite Level 3+)
Mondays 6:00-7:00pm

Accelerated Training & Performance (ATP)

FLEX: Dance develops technical dance foundations to enhance movement quality and performance for acro dancers. Through jazz and ballet-inspired training, students improve flexibility, extensions, leaps, turns, posture, alignment, foot articulation, and balance, essential for seamless acro dance transitions and choreography.

Hip Hop

Mini TRIX: Hip Hop (Ages 4-6)
Thursdays 5:45-6:30pm
A fusion class blending beginner hip hop technique with floor tricks, freezes, and acrobatic movement. Great for students who love to move big, stay grounded, and try new styles! No experience required.

TNT: Hip Hop (Ages 7-15)
Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm
A fusion class blending foundational and technical hip hop movement with floorwork, stalls, freezes, and acrobatic tricks. Great for athletes who love to move big, stay grounded, and try new styles!

Class Information

Athletes learn group choreography during weekly lessons with their assigned coach/choreographer, preparing for competitions and community events.

Acro Dance – Junior (Age 7+, Level 3+) / Elite (Age 11+, Level 6+)

Team class times will be announced following placement evaluations.

Additional Choreography & Placement Process

Placement by the program director is required to perform additional choreography on the Competitive Dance Team.

Athletes interested in solo, duet, or trio choreography will be evaluated by the artistic director, and chosen based on age, ability, experience, and commitment. The athlete will be assessed on their strength, technique, flexibility, and artistry in Acro Dance. Coach recommendations and prior class progress will also be considered.

Athletes should be prepared to demonstrate clean execution of skills appropriate to their level, as well as the ability to learn and master set choreography.
